Snow, no gritting, causes chaos on A127 in Essex!

As the ‘Big Freeze’ got well and truly under way, I left a gig at midnight on Saturday, and got stuck in the snow on the A127 between the A130 and Rayleigh Weir. A Sainsbury lorry couldn’t make the incline, had ground to a halt-blocking the slow lane. Despite the spare lane people wouldn’t drive past, miles of traffic jams spent 3 and a half hours stationary! No police, no gritting.

I watched as people dressed in suits, dinner jackets and evening wear abandoned their cars, walking between the traffic along the A127  through the snow to continue their journey on foot.

My journey from Laindon to Hockley took 4.5 hours! That’s the same amount of time i was performing for at the party!
